OK, if you've read my article: Are You Wasting Your Web Traffic? How to Follow-up With Your Visitors for More Profit! you're probably ready to try an autoresponder to boost your sales. But which autoresponder should you use? Which has the features you need at a cost you can afford?
One way to get recommendations for autoresponders is to see which ones the marketing gurus use for their email campaigns. After checking the main players in the Internet Marketing field, it's obvious which autoresponders they trust to deliver their promos flawlessly. While most marketers use Aweber, many also use GetResponse.
When you consider this vote of confidence from professional marketers, you can't go wrong choosing either of these autoresponder services for YOUR newsletters and email campaigns.
To Help You Choose...
If you're just starting out and have no list; or you have a small list of under 500 subscribers to communicate with, then either Aweber or GetResponse will work nicely.
As you can see in the table below, GetResponse costs less per month at every subscriber level.
| Subscribers | GetResponse $/month | Aweber $/month |
| 0-500 | 18.00 | 19.00 |
| 501-2500 | 28.00 | 29.00 |
| 2501-5000 | 45.00 | 49.00 |
| 5001-10000 | 65.00 | 69.00 |
With pricing so similar, your choice basically comes down to the important factors of deliverability, support and useful features.
About Email Deliverability
If you're trying to convince a subscriber to make a purchase, you certainly don't want your emails deleted by spam removers or other filters.
A few years ago each responder service bragged about 99.xx% deliverability, but since the onset of so many phishing and spamming schemes since then, they have stopped listing their deliverable percentage. Instead they brag about their commitment to ensuring your emails are delivered. They promise high-deliverability through their relationships with ISPs and other email services. In this area, both responder companies seem to be about equal.
Feature Comparison Between GetResponse and Aweber Autoresponders
You've seen the pricing comparison, now lets take a look at features. There are so many, it's best to visit each website to see them all, but here are the main features worth considering:
| GetResponse | Aweber | |

As you can see the two autoresponders are very comparable. One difference is price of course, and the fact that GetResponse offers a List Builder Service which actually costs extra.
Here's what GetResponse says about their List Builder Service:
- Sit back and watch your list turbocharge into a powerful business growth generator as we build your list for you
- Decide how many new subscribers you want, pay a small fee, and we add unique, high-quality, carefully targeted, opt-in subscribers for your list
- Get new subscriptions instantly and automatically
- Get a larger list of high-quality subscribers and have more people responding to your offer
- GetResponse is the only autoresponder to offer this service
To be honest I have not used the List Builder service, so I can't comment on its effectiveness, but it does sound like a worthwhile idea, depending upon the actual cost vs benefits.
Bottom Line:
For features, service and deliverability you can't beat either Aweber or GetResponse autoresponders.
- If price per number of subscribers is an important criteria for you, then GetResponse is your best choice.
- If you prefer a powerful autoresponder backed by the recommendations of major marketers, then your first choice should be Aweber.
With either service, you'll get a quality, full-featured autoresponder with great customer support!
